The “Perambulators” is the Furzedown Project’s walking group.
Our aim is to offer interesting and challenging walks of 5 -12 miles within easy travelling of SW16.
Each walk is mapped & scouted. We usually meet at the Project at 9.00 before setting off for the day. We welcome new walkers.
Our next planned walk
Monday 22nd July 2019 – A walk from Milford, Surrey to Witley, via Brook. Approx. 7½ miles. Led by Annie McCall (mobile 07894 223730)
Meet outside the Project at 09.00.
We will make our way to Clapham Junction and then catch the 1022 train to Milford arriving at 1105. To save queuing at Clapham Junction we recommend that you buy your ticket in advance. We are returning from Witley. (approx £8.80 with Freedom Pass and Senior Railcard). After 5½ miles we will stop for lunch at the Dog and Pheasant Pub in Brook. Good beer and food menu, or bring sandwiches. There are no coffee stops. It is possible to catch a bus to Witley Station from outside the pub.
After lunch we continue our walk from Brook to Witley (approx. 2 miles) with a steep climb near the start
The walk is undulating with a couple of short steep climbs and approximately 3 stiles.
We look forward to you joining us.
