The “Perambulators” is the Furzedown Project’s walking group.
Our aim is to offer interesting and challenging walks of 5 -12 miles within easy travelling of SW16.
Each walk is mapped & scouted. We usually meet at the Project at 9.00 before setting off for the day. We welcome new walkers.
Our next planned walk
Tuesday 30th April 2019
Bluebell Walk, about 8.5 miles. Led by Jean Ettridge & Susan Howard
We will walk to Streatham Common Station to catch the 9:46 train to East Croydon where we will change trains. We will alight at Oxted and return from Hurst Green, which is beyond the Freedom Pass Zone. The main attraction at this time of year is the magnificent display of bluebells in Staffhurst Wood, an area of woodland largely untouched since mediaeval times, if there has been rain it is likely to be muddy. Our lunch stop will be the Royal Oak in Oxted, which has a garden for those who want to bring their own sandwiches.
Meet at the Project at 0900.
We look forward to you joining us.
