Walking Group

The “Perambulators” is the Furzedown Project’s walking group.
Our aim is to offer interesting and challenging walks of 5 -12 miles within easy travelling of SW16.
Each walk is mapped & scouted. We usually meet at the Project at 9.00 before setting off for the day. We welcome new walkers.
Our next planned walk
Monday 14th October – Leith Hill Circular – 6.5 miles. Led by Liz & Mike Richards
Meet outside the Project at 09.30
We will walk to Streatham Common to catch a train to Holmwood (changing at Sutton), £5.35 return using a Freedom Pass and Senior Railcard.
From Holmwood we will walk to the Folly on the top of Leith Hill, 2 hours. There is a National Trust kiosk there selling drinks and delicious cakes but no toilets. Then we will descend to Coldharbour, 45 mins, and stop for a pub/picnic lunch at the Plough Inn. There are benches opposite for those bringing a picnic lunch.
From Coldharbour we will return to Holmwood, 1 hour, and catch the 1628 train.
The walk is likely to be wet and muddy, so walking boots are recommended.
We look forward to you joining us.
