The Project’s Saturday film club is funded under Wandsworth Council’s Community Spaces initiative. We show films from a wide variety of eras and genres – comedy, romance, thrillers, kitchen-sink dramas and more.
As well as presenting the film, we also provide some background and trivia on how the films came to be made.
The sessions are free, are open to the whole community, and include snacks and refreshments. All films are shown with subtitles.
Suggestions for future presentations welcome.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a 2019 French historical romantic drama film written and directed by Céline Sciamma. Set in France in the late 18th century, the film tells the story of a brief affair between two young women: an aristocrat and a painter commissioned to paint her portrait.
The film received widespread critical acclaim and was voted the 30th greatest film of all time in the Sight & Sound 2022 critics’ poll. It really is that good! The film won the Queer Palm at Cannes, becoming the first film directed by a woman to win the award.
We are showing the film as a tie in with the Furzedown Pride celebration on Saturday 20th June.
