Gardener’s Group
The Project Gardener’s Group is for anyone interested in gardening – meeting once a month on Thursday evenings (usually the third Thursday of the month) at The Project to chat about gardening and share what green initiatives are going on in the area, including how to support the Furzedown Farmers. There will be regular email updates from Debbie about green initiatives in the area.
We have installed a community Planter outside The Project, with various vegetables growing. In March 2024 we launched the Furzedown Farmers veg plot at Streatham Park Bowling Club and we have been busy every week maintaining it, and planting potatoes, peas & beans and building a compost heap.
We have been enjoying harvesting produce since June including curly kale, carrots, beetroots, potatoes, courgettes, rhubarb and apples which we are selling to Project members.
Can you spare a couple of hours? Gardening volunteers are needed every Tuesday 2.30pm – 4:30pm at the Streatham Park Bowling club, Pringle Gardens SW16 1SH. Help harvest, weed, water and clear our veg patch or come to enjoy the lovely green space and learn more. Beginners welcome!
