The Furzedown Project is a company limited by guarantee and a Charity (No. 1076087) which offers services to older people in Furzedown and the Borough of Wandsworth. The Project is registered in accordance with GDPR as set out in this policy statement. The Project acts through its board of directors (“the Board”) and paid staff. The individual directors are appointed, and hold office, in accordance with the Project’s Articles of Association.
In accordance with the Project’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, any trading profit, which is generated by the Project, is applied for the purposes of the Project’s charitable aims and is not distributed to the Project’s members. As such, the Project is properly regarded, for the purposes of GDPR, as a “not for profit” organisation.
Our commitment to protecting your privacy is paramount at The Furzedown Project. The following statement describes how we collect and use information about people.
Collecting Information
We normally collect personal information from you when you, enquire about our activities, become a member, make a donation, book a room, join our home visiting scheme, become a volunteer, or otherwise provide us with your personal details. We may also receive information about you from other people, if a friend, family member, or care professional refers you to our services.
We do not currently use “Cookies” on our web browser but may do at some time in the future. Should we do so we will update this policy and publish it on our website. We may also gather general information regarding the use of our website and our community, such as which pages are visited most frequently. Only anonymous information and statistics will be used which do not identify individual visitors. This information helps us improve the services and information we offer.
Personal Information
The types of personal information collected might include name, date of birth, email address, postal address, telephone number, the name contact information of the person we should notify in the event of an emergency, your GP, any health conditions you feel we should know about, and equalities information.
How do we use this information?
We will use your personal information to provide you with the services, products or information you have requested, for administration purposes and to further our charitable aims, including for fundraising activities. We may need to share your information with our funders, service providers, associated organisations and agents for these purposes.

Personal Detail Protection
Information that you submit in a registration or enquiry form may be stored using a third party ‘cloud computing’ service and/or stored on secure hard drives located at The Furzedown Project.
We also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information we receive is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only for so long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. All access to our secure information is restricted only to authorised staff.
Legal Compliance
The Furzedown Project may need to disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a court order or, in exceptional circumstances, where we think someone is at serious risk of being harmed, we may contact the police or a local authority safeguarding team.
