Do you want to take some exercise outdoors?  Do you enjoy doing activities with other people?  Then the Furzedown Strollers Group is just what you are looking for.  We go on short, local walks, usually on Tooting Common.

We meet at 10:00am on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Furzedown Project, please check at reception. Robert Liston is the group leader pobble@cix.co.uk.

The Project Perambulators

The Project’s Perambulators is our long established walking group that typically offers walks of between 5 and 10 miles within easy travelling distance from the Project. This will generally be in the countryside near London or exploring parks, woods and water courses in London.

In addition we will organise occasional shorter walks that explore London’s rich history. Each walk is mapped, scouted and led by an experienced guide. We usually meet at the Project and aim to have at least one walk each month. We welcome new walkers.

The new lead is Philip Bradley, if you’re interested in joining our next walk please email southlondoner23@gmail.com

Next Perambulators walks:

Woolwich and Thames Path

Our next walk is Thursday 30th October and will be a circular walk from Woolwich along the Thames Path.
It’s an easy 4.5 mile along paved and gravel paths and is full of interesting sights and experiences.
The walk starts and finishes in the Woolwich heritage conservation area, going past former foundries, factories, warehouses and military buildingthat were in use for 300 years.
The Thames Path takes us to Gallion’s Park and onwards to The Tor, a manmade mound and the highest point in Thamesmead from where we can enjoy views of the Thames Estuary before returning to Woolwich.

Linda Dalton and Graham Loveland will lead the walk. We’ll meet at the Project at 9.30am, walk to Tooting Rail Station to take a train to Farringdon and then the Elizabeth Line to Woolwich Arsenal. You can bring a packed lunch, but there are also several eateries at Woolwich Arsenal as well as public toilets. Return to Furzedown early afternoon.
If you’re interested in joining the walk please email Philip Bradley southlondoner23@gmail.com
